Indicator

What type of organisations can receive Felix food?

We provide food to not-for-profit organisations including charities, schools, community groups, tenants associations, housing associations and many more. Social enterprises will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Indicator

What food safety conditions does my organisation need to meet to qualify for Felix food?

We ask all organisations who receive food from us to share some food safety information with us. Don’t worry if you don’t hold this now we can help you.

We ask you to:

•be registered with your local Environmental Health Office or provide us with your rating

•have at least one person who holds Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent

Indicator

Do you deliver Felix food outside London?

We deliver food to almost 1000 organisations across London’s 32 boroughs and the City of London, to help a wide range of people who are vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition in our capital.

If your project is located elsewhere please use the following link to find the regional centre operated by our FareShare partners: https://fareshare.org.uk/fareshare-centres/.

Indicator

What types of food might I receive?

We have a fantastic range of surplus food we can offer you. Being surplus, every order you receive will be different and we hope you will be as excited about this variety as we are!

We do not order from our food partners. We work with them to rescue as much good food as possible for the benefit of our planet. By receiving food from Felix you are joining our mission to rescue good food!

What you receive will depend on what we have in stock as well as what type of food storage you have. If you have fridges and freezers you’ll receive our full range of stock. No fridges or freezers? No problem, you can still get great fresh, whole fruit and vegetables from us as well as other items such as bakery.

Indicator

Will I also receive long life cupboard staples?

Looking for store cupboard staples such as tins, dried pasta, rice and other long-life food? We have small amounts of this type of food available as it generally doesn’t become surplus because it has such long-life. When we have them, it’s included in your order. We think of these types of food as a nice surprise rather than something we can provide every week.

On the 23rd we're doing a big Christmas meal and handing out Christmas toys as well. The Felix Project gives us fruit, veg, meat, massive pumpkins, cakes, treats, gluten-free chickpea pasta, plant based milk, pheasant, lamb. Families depend on us and what we provide.

Michelle Donelly, CEO, Children with Voices

Since coming out of the military my quality of life is a bit up and down. Life isn't easy but everyone has to make the most out of a bad situation. I know I'm going to get a good lunch. The food varies from day to day.

Colin, veteran in North London

Lockdown was a hard time for me. I'm a single parent and it was difficult to receive benefits and manage everything. To get food from Felix...it helped us survive. The Felix Project is doing a great job - it's helped me and I'm sure it's helped a lot of other families who live on low income.

We would see a lot more hungry children if food from Felix stopped

Tam, Haringey Play Association

Our key worker parents are so grateful to The Felix Project. It’s perfect... they can collect their children and food supplies from school at the same time. When you're working full time, finding time to shop is difficult and often shelves are empty. Thank you for your support.

"We cooked over 300 meals and we’re freezing them so they can be handed out to the needy in the community. We are prioritising the sick and isolated. All the food we have used is donated from The Felix Project."

Vicky Williams , Founder , BreadnButter

For people at the lowest ebb of their lives, make no mistake, Felix is a godsend. And not just for their stomachs – for their state of mind. This food is the difference between health and sickness and, quite possibly, life and death.

Stephen, St Laurence's Larder , Camberlain

We get fresh produce. It’s like it’s off the farm because the quality of the food is so good and so fresh!
