At least 3 million tonnes of edible food waste is generated by the UK food industry each year. At the same time, food poverty is a huge and growing problem, and almost 2 million children in the UK live in households that struggle to afford to buy enough fruit, vegetables, fish and other healthy foods.

The Felix Project provides a free door-to-door service to collect surplus food from suppliers, and deliver it to charities. In 2021, we provided food for 30,000,000 million meals, and our operation is growing rapidly. We work with hundreds of charities and suppliers, helping disadvantaged adults and children get access to high-quality food. During the COVID-19 outbreak, we also delivered to London's emergency food hubs, serving people who are sick and in isolation.

We love the Felix Project. Without the fresh produce, it would limit the service we could offer our guests quite significantly.

Volunteering has enabled me to obtain a good understanding of what happens to unwanted food from wholesalers and retailers in an urban environment. I would like to think that the support that I have given, big or small, has benefited someone somewhere.

Nutritional foods have always been very important for people with HIV. Now having the Felix Project means we can have a wide variety and range of meals every day.

We've donated to the Felix Project for some time now and find them really easy to work with. You'd barely know the arrangement was in place once you've got into a routine.
