Felix’s Kitchen: cooking from surplus in East London

Mark Curtin, CEO of The Felix Project, says: “Over lockdown, when food poverty rates in London began to soar, we started working with restaurants and caterers – such as The Caring Foundation, With Compassion and Hilton Hotel group - to produce cooked meals and we discovered there was an urgent need among communities for well-balanced, pre-prepared meals. Felix's Kitchen will open the door to more surplus food and provide working opportunities for local people and help a huge range of struggling Londoners."

The kitchen could not have been made possible without the on-going support of The Evening Standard and Independent who, after a tremendous campaign to feed London throughout lockdown, have given a further £1 million pounds to launch the project, via the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund, which is managed by the London Community Foundation.
